ABOUT ME

Mindfulness, Sincerity and Appreciation. Those are the three rules that I live by and bring into my music.

As a bassist, I am Mindful. I am mindful of the detail that must be paid to every single note that comes from me. The pitch, the timbre, the duration, the attack; all of these are deliberate down to the finest detail.

As a songwriter, I am Sincere. I am sincere in my lyric writing. My story is a story of loss and an opening of heart that I can only share by presenting myself as an open book for all to read. My songs vary from straight forward accounts of events in my life to anecdotes which serve to translate raw emotion.

As a musician, I am Appreciative. I am appreciative of the talent of those who are making music around me. In improvising, I listen to and cater to do the ideas of my fellow conversationalists and embellish their ideas so that they can come to fruition. I sit and watch the performances of my colleague's bands because I know the value of playing for someone who truly listens. That is, after all, why we are all doing this. And to make it better is what I am here for.
