ABOUT ME
HELLO
I am Alex and I sing for this band.
I was born in 1986 in an aluminum shed in a small town outside of Oslo. Within a week of my birth, my parents, both cosmonauts, were summoned to St. Petersburg for a mission that remains classified to this day. They never returned and I was subsequently raised by the local blacksmith. Blacksmithing remains a passion of mine, along with calligraphy and collecting different varieties of pinecones.
From ages 6 to 10 I traveled Scandanavia with a small troupe of acrobats. Every night we would perform in a new village, the acrobats doing tricks in a circle while I stood in the middle holding a torch with a metal bucket over my head. This was an extremely lucrative period in my life and I am still living off the money I made then. Upon my departure from the acrobat troupe, the main acrobat advised me to invest in maple syrup futures. "Maple syrup is the one constant in the world, child," he said to me as I prepared to leave for the western world. "When all else is wrecked, when the world is brought down, when civilization is reduced to embers and ash, there will still be maple syrup." I have never known a truth greater than this.
Upon arriving in America I immediately built myself a shelter out of logs and vinyl siding that I tore off abandoned houses. Inside of this shelter, with little more to accompany me than a plastic rocket left to me by the Russian space program and a set of calligraphy pens, I began to craft the songs that would one day become the music of THE HELP.
The rest is history.
